Frequently Asked Questions

Who is a good fit for Archway OT?

Colorado adults who want to be more functional and less overwhelmed by daily life, including those managing chronic fatigue, chronic pain, or behavioral health concerns. You don't need to have everything figured out. If daily tasks feel harder than they should, we can talk.

How do I get started?

Book a free consultation. It's a short, no-pressure conversation where you can tell us what's going on, ask questions, and see whether we're a good fit. If we are, we'll walk you through next steps, including insurance verification and scheduling your first session.

What is occupational therapy (OT)?

Occupational therapy (OT) helps people do the things they need and want to do in daily life. Here, "occupation" means any meaningful way you "occupy" your time: getting dressed, cooking, working, parenting, hobbies, and time with friends. Occupational therapy practitioners look at what's getting in the way and helps you find practical strategies, tools, and routines so those activities feel more manageable.

Do I need a referral or a diagnosis?

You don't need a specific diagnosis to talk with us. Depending on your insurance, a referral or physician sign-off may be required before services begin. We'll tell you exactly what's needed and help you get it sorted during the intake process.

How does telehealth work? What equipment do I need?

Telehealth requires video and audio connection to be reimbursed by insurance, so you will need a device (such as a tablet, smartphone, or computer) that has a camera and microphone. You will also need a reliable internet connection and a quiet, distraction-free space during your telehealth sessions.

Importantly, for insurance coverage you must be in in the state of Colorado during the time of your appointment.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept Medicaid (Health First Colorado) and are currently working to add Medicare for occupational therapy services. We'll verify your coverage and explain what to expect before your first visit. Our technology education service is private pay only and isn't covered by insurance.

If you’re using private insurance, we would be considered an out-of-network provider. We would be happy to send you superbills and other necessary documentation to submit to your insruance for reimbursement.

How often will we meet, and for how long?

It depends on your goals and needs. Many people start with weekly or every-other-week sessions, and we adjust from there. The aim is to build skills you can use on your own, not to keep you in therapy longer than necessary.

How is this different from my regular therapy?

Occupational therapy strives to help clients improve their functioning. So we won’t be directly addressing your mental health concerns (that is better left to a qualified mental health professional), but we will be working on everyday activities that support your mental health, such as developing consistency with healthy habits and routines, improving your sleep, and helping you to feel more “on top” of your normal life.
